Lydia Eva & Mincarlo Information for 2024The Lydia Eva Museum ship is moored on South quay Great Yarmouth and will open Saturdays throughout March 2024, 1000 till 1300
From the 1st of April 2024 Lydia Eva will be open from Wednesday to Monday, 1000 till 1600 (subject to volunteer availability and weather / Closed on Tuesdays) The Mincarlo is moored on Heritage quay south pier Lowestoft and from the 1st April 2024 Mincarlo will be open from Monday to Sunday 1000 till 1600 (subject to volunteers available) |

Lydia Eva the Film star!Lydia Eva has taken centre stage as she plays a pivotal part in an upcoming for a blockbuster movie, ‘Wonka’. The story will focus specifically on a young Willy Wonka and how he met the Oompa-Loompas on one of his earliest adventures.
Directed by Paul King and starring Timothée Chalamet, Olivia Colman and Keegan-Michael is expected to hit cinemas in the UK around December 15th, 2023. Lydia Eva was transported down to Lyme Regis on the south coast for a starring role in scenes where a young Willy Wonka arrives in England. A visual effects team from Warnes Bros was onboard the herring drifter filming its engines being tested for the film. Filming by the visual effects crew at Lydia Eva's berth on Yarmouth's South Quay will be used to recreate her engine room using CGI movie magic technology to amaze cinema-goers on the big screen. |
Paul Mitchell, chairman of the Lydia Eva and Mincarlo Trust, said: "We can't hope for better advertising than being in a film like this. Hopefully it will bring a lot more footfall to the vessel after people see her in the film.” "It will help keep a part of Yarmouth's history going."
